Foran blanks Westies
Lions post 7-0 win

(April 3, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team was blanked by Foran 7-0 in the season-opening match for both teams Monday afternoon in Milford.
In singles play, top-seeded senior Maggie Yeh fell to Grace Hiza 6-0, 6-0, second-seeded senior Evelyn Fabian lost 6-1, 6-1 against Alex Iannotti, and third-seeded junior Hannah Allan suffered a tough loss in a tightly contested match against Sarah Lockwood by scores of 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Fourth-seeded senior Paige Sheridan dropped a 6-4, 6-1 decision against Lily Stiffler.
In doubles play, top-seeded sophomores Skylar Serenson and Shea Clarke fell 6-2, 6-0 against Becca Carey and Arshia Puri, while second-seeded sophomores Ariana Nguyen and Rua Osman fell 8-5 against Natalie Hubler and Izzy Connelly.
Third--seeded Kiara Walker and Fatima Al Rashed lost 8-2 against Taylor Patton and Julia Harrington.

(April 5, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 6-1 decision over Career Wednesday afternoon in West Haven. With the win, West Haven improved to 1-1 on the season.
West Haven played well in the match, with its only defeat a tough one in singles play when top-seeded Maggie Yeh fell 6-3, 6-3 against Kyra Catubig.

Second-seeded Evelyn Fabian topped Chamaia Caver 6-1, 7-5, third-seeded Hannah Allan won 6-1, 6-0 over Seima Abouneameh, and fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan won 6-4, 7-6 over Moxa Patel.

In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Shea Clarke posted a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Marwa Abdelati and Denise Morallon. Second-seeded Ariana Nguyen and Rua Osman won 6-1, 6-2 over Jonnae Mearthur and Ashley Ata, while third-seeded Kiara Walker and Fatima Al Rashed won 6-2, 6-1 over Poorna Balakumar and Glory Adekanye.
East Haven tops Westies

(April 13, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 1-3 with a 6-1 loss against East Haven Thursday in West Haven.

In singles action, top-seeded Maggie Yeh fell to Jenna Pane 6-0, 6-0, second-seeded Hannah Allan lost to Devyn Gargano 6-1, 6-2, third-seeded Paige Sheridan fell 5-7, 6-1, 8-6 against Karla Gonzalez, while Shea Clarke fell in the fourth spot against Juliana Mikulski 6-2, 6-0.

(April 17, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to Cheshire 7-0 Monday afternoon in Cheshire.
In singles play, Maggie Yeh dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision against Caroline Jentzen, second-seeded Evelyn Fabian lost 6-3, 6-0 against Camille Bisson, and third-seeded Hannah Allan dropped a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 decision to Erin Wu. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan lost 6-3, 6-0 against Shivani Padhi.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Shea Clarke fell 6-0, 6-2 against Kelsea Mann and Jenny Wang.
Second-seeded Ariana Nguyen and Rua Osman lost 6-0, 6-0 against Alexa Wetmore and Katie Tomko, while third-seeded Kiara Walker and Fatima Al Rashed lost 6-0, 6-0 to Sydney Wang and Gabby Russitano.

(April 19, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team dropped to 1-5 on the year with a 7-0 loss to Hamden.
In singles action, top-seeded Maggie Yeh lost 6-2, 6-3 against Vidhya Maran, second-seeded Evelyn Fabian dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Katie Esposito, and third-seeded Hannah Allan lost 6-1, 6-2 against Ava Albis. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan lost 6-1, 6-1 against Janaya Laude.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Ariana Nguyen dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision against Sophie Coassin and Jazmin Jiminez. Second-seeded Shea Clarke and Kiara Walker lost 6-0, 6-0 against Sophia Flanders and Emily Lancor, while third-seeded Rua Osman and Fatima Al Rashed lost 8-4 against Aria Ahmed and Maia Radcliff.

(April 21, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 1-6 on the year with a 6-1 loss to North Haven Friday afternoon. West Haven's lone victory came in singles play as fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan topped Lexi Porto 8-4.
In singles action, top-seeded Maggie Yeh lost 6-0, 6-0 against Julia Migliorini, second-seeded Evelyn Fabian dropped a 6-1, 6-0 contest to Olivia Hoyt, and third-seeded Hannah Allan lost 6-1, 6-1 to Hillary Hoyt.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Ariana Nguyen lost 6-1, 6-4 to Nina Padro and Amber Jean-Guillaume. Second-seeded Shea Clarke and Kiara Walker fell 6-1, 6-0 against Sejal Alturu and Zoe Bowerman, while third-seeded Rua Osman and Fatima Al Rashed lost 6-3, 6-2 against Avery Hill and Katrina Nadolny.

(April 24, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 1-7 on the year with a 6-1 defeat against Sheehan in West Haven Monday afternoon.
West Haven's lone victory came in singles play as third-seeded Hannah Allan defeated Shreya Patel 6-1, 6-0.
In singles play, top-seeded Maggie Yeh lost 6-0, 6-0 against Justine Hoover, and second-seeded Evelyn Fabian lost 6-0, 2-6, 7-5 against Srivani Agnihotran. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan fell 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 against Grace Waldron.
In doubles play, Skylar Serenson and Ariana Nguyen fell 6-2, 6-0 against Amanda Addona and Sydney Fur, while second-seeded Shea Clarke and Kiara Walker lost 6-3, 6-4 against Shannon Bradley and Anna Thai. Third-seeded Rua Osman and Jasmine Brown lost 5-7, 7-6, 10-8 against Kayleigh Falcone and Crystal Gallagher.

(April 25, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss against Mercy on the road Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, West Haven fell to 1-8 on the year.
In singles action, Maggie Yeh lost 8-0 against Molly Garcia, second-seeded Evelyn Fabian fell 8-3 to Juliette Piazza, and third-seeded Hannah Allan lost 8-0 against Lorenza Inserra. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan dropped an 8-1 decision against Katie Schumann.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Kiara Walker lost 8-0 against Kathryn Hanly and Kate Hall, while second-seeded Rua Osman and Jasmine Brown fell 8-1 against Alex Porczak and Isabella Iorio. Third-seeded Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos fell 8-0 to Julia Pittruzzello and Julia Wenceslao.

(April 27, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team snapped a seven-match losing streak with a 5-2 home victory over Platt Tech Thursday afternoon.
The Westies (2-8) lost just one match in each of the singles and doubles matches.

In singles action, top-seeded Maggie Yeh fell to Juliana Pinto 8-3, second-seeded Evelyn Fabian topped Johana Campoverde 8-4, and third-seeded Hannah Allan topped Aiyane Fazza-Mottoso 8-1. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan won 8-6 over Abigail Cruz.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Ariana Nguyen won 8-2 over Ashley Harriss and Crystal Jacome. Second-seeded Shea Clarke and Kiara Walker defeated Denisha Martinez and Jada Delgado 8-1, and third-seeded Rua Osman and Fatima Al Rashed fell to Taelor Rose and Toni Gauger 9-8 .

(May 1, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 2-10 with its second straight defeat Monday afternoon. The Westies suffered the loss with a 7-0 decision against Sacred Heart Academy.
In singles play, top-seeded Maggie Yeh fell 6-0, 6-0 against Monika Krah, Evelyn Fabian lost 7-6, 6-4 against Jenna Tubby, and third-seeded Hannah Allan lost 6-0, 6-0 to Allie Galusko. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Maia Jabowaski.

(May 4, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team picked up its third win of the season with a 4-3 victory over East Haven Wednesday afternoon.
In singles play, top-seeded Maggie Yeh topped Jenna Pane when Pane fell by injury forfeit. Second-seeded Evelyn Fabian fell to Devyn Gargano 6-3, 7-5, third-seeded Hannah Allan lost to Karla Gonzalez 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan topped Juliana Mikulski 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles play, top-seeded Skylar Serenson and Ariana Nguyen lost 6-3, 4-6 (7-2) to Autumn Hernandez and Sandy Nguyen. Second-seeded Shea Clarke and Kiara Walker topped Nhi Trinh and Mikayla Raffone 6-3, 6-3, and third-seeded Rua Osman and Jasmine Brown defeated Victoria Gaudino and Alexis Pendziwater 7-6 (7-4) and 7-5.

West Haven's victories came in singles action as top-seeded Evelyn Fabian defeated Linds Shanahan 6-3, 7-5 and third-seeded Hannah Allan topped Haya Sobh 6-3, 6-0.
Second-seeded Maggie Yeh fell 6-3, 6-3 against Nat Farris, and fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan lost 7-6, 6-2 against Sarah Giona.

(May 17, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team won its third match in a row witha 5-2 victory over Lyman Hall Wednesday in West Haven. With the win, West Haven improved to 5-13 on the season.
In singles play, top-seeded Evelyn Fabian defeated Lexie Agro 6-1, 6-1, second-seeded Maggie Yeh posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Savannah Farkash, and third-seeded Hannah Allen topped Valerie Fekete 6-4, 6-2. Fourth-seeded Paige Sheridan posted a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Kiera Farley.

(May 18, 2017) - The West Haven girls tennis team closed the regular season with a 5-2 loss to Foran. The home loss ended the regular season for the Westies with a 6-13 record.
