Hamden tops West Haven
Westies fall to Green Dragons in season opener

(December 19, 2023) - The West Haven boys swimming team lost its season opener in Hamden, 96-60. The Green Dragons posted victories in each event.
In the 200 medley relay, the Westies placed fourth with a team of Nate Charron, Edward Fagnani, Flores-Copa, Johnny Chen in 2 minutes, 16.64 seconds.
Brandon Sihaphong was fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:35.27, Andrew McLarty was second in the 200 IM in 2:21.46, and Chen was fourth in the 50 free in 32.03.
McLarty was second in the 100 fly in 1:03.31, Charron was third in the 100 free in 59.14, Jeff Flores - Copa was fourth in the 500 free in 6:55.57, and the 200 free relay team of Charron, Chen, Flores-Copa, and Fagnani finished in 1:55.38.Charron finished the 100 back in 1:07.97, Flores-Copa finished the 100 breaststroke in 1:41.52, and the 400 free relay team of Isiah Correira, Sihapongh, Benjamin Proano, and McLarty had a time of 4:50.93.

Sheehan/Lyman Hall tops West Haven

(December 28, 2023) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to 0-2 with a 93-71 loss to Sheehan/Lyman Hall Thursday at West Haven High.
West Haven placed third in the 200 medley relay with a team of Nathan Charron, Andrew McLarty, Isiah Correira, and Brandon Sihaphong in 2:09.15. The 200 free relay team of Charron, Sihaphong, McLarty, and Benjamin Proano finished second in 1:53.54, while the 400 free relay team of Johnny Chen, Proano, Jerimiah Nieves, and Correira won in 5:45.84.
Proano placed third in the 200 free in 2:39.32, McLarty was third in the 200 IM in 2:21.49, Charron was second in the 50 free in 26.92 seconds, and McLarty was also second in the 100 fly in 1:02.18.Sihaphong placed third in the 100 free in 1:10.19, Proano was third in the 500 free in 6:52.67, Charron finished second in the 100 back in 1:14.04, and Chen won the 100 breast in 1:44.95.

(January 2, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to 0-3 with an 82-81 loss to Haddam-Killingworth Tuesday evening in West Haven.

The Westies posted just two victories in the meet as Nate Charron won the 100 freestyle in 1:00.47, and the 200 free relay team of Charron, Isiah Correira, Andrew McLarty, and Brandon Sihaphong won in 1:52.39.

(January 9, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to 0-4 with an 88-75 loss to Milford at Foran High Tuesday evening.
West Haven’s Andrew McClarty won the 200 IM in 2 minutes, 21.18 seconds, and Johnny Chen was victorious in the 100 breast in 1:44.87.West Haven’s 400 free relay team of Jeffrey Flores-Copa, McLarty, Nate Charron, and Benjamin Proano won in 4:15.44

(January 12, 2024) - The West Haven boys swimming team fell to 0-5 with a 91-76 home loss against Greater New Haven Friday afternoon.
Andrew McLarty won the 100 fly in 1 minute, 1.50 seconds, Nate Charron was victorious in the 100 back in 1:04.65, and Edward Fagnani won the 100 breast in 1:39.43.

The 400 free relay team of Charron, McLarty, Jeffery Flores-Copa, and Brandon Sihaphong won in 4:19.06.

(January 19, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to Sheehan/Lyman Hall 87.5-77.5 at Sheehan Friday evening.
Andrew McLarty won the 200 free in 2 minutes, 10.03 seconds, Nate Charron won the 100 back in 1:03.27, and Edward Fagnani won the 100 breast in 1:40.80. The 400 free relay team of Jeffery Flores-Copa, McLarty, Charron, and Benjamin Proano won in 4:21.59.​

(January 23, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to 0-7 with a 92-78 loss at Waterford Tuesday afternoon.
Nate Charron won the 200 free in 2 minutes, 30.19 seconds, Edward Fagnani won the 100 breast in 1:49.54, and the 400 free relay team of Brandon Sihaphong, Jeffery Flores-Copa, Charron, and Andrew McLarty also posted a victory.

(January 24, 2024) - The West Haven swim team dropped to 0-8 with a 95-67 home loss against Fitch Co-Op Thursday evening at West Haven High.

The Westies placed first in just two events. Edward Fagnani won the 100 breast in 1 minute, 41.80 seconds, while the 400 free relay team of Isiah Correira, Mathew Loo, Fagnani, and Yousaf Khan was also victorious.

(January 30, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell 93-75 at Shelton Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Westies dropped to 0-9 on the year.
Andrew McLarty won the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 58.86 seconds, and Jeffery Flores-Copa was victorious in the 100 back in 1:14.04.

The 400 free relay team of Benjamin Proano, Ivo Dedo Frias, McLarty, and Johnny Chen also came away with a victory.

(February 1, 2024) - The West Haven boys swim team fell to Milford 93-69 at West Haven High Thursday evening. With the loss, the Westies dropped to 0-10 on the year.

Jeffery Flores-Copa won the 100 backstroke in 1 minute, 12.60 seconds, Nathan Charron was victorious in the 100 breast in 1:14.87, and the 400 free relay team of Brandon Sihaphong, Flores-Copa, Andrew McLarty, and Benjamin Proano won in 4:21.93.

(February 6, 2024) - The West Haven swim team was looking for its first team win of the season. Unfortunately for the Westies, they were just points behind.
Winning four events, West Haven did not have enough to defeat cross-town rival Notre Dame as the Green Knights prevailed 91-79 at West Haven High Tuesday afternoon.
The 200 free relay team of Jeffery Flores-Copa, Johnny Chen, Andrew McLarty, and Benjamin Proano won in 1 minute, 53.85 seconds.

Nate Charron won the 100 back in 1:01.72, Johnny Chen was victorious in the 100 breast in 1:34.79, and the 400 free relay team of Proano, Charron, Chen, and Brandon Sihaphong was victorious in 4:21.93.

East Lyme tops West Haven

West Haven’s lone win came in the 400 free relay where Jeffery Flores-Copa, Benjamin, Proano, Andrew McLarty, and Nate Charron were victorious in 4 minutes, 12.82 seconds.
