Westies in SCC Meet
West Haven places 18th

(May 26, 2015) - The West Haven girls track and field team placed 18th in the Southern Connecticut Conference meet in Wallingford Tuesday afternoon. The Westies finished the day with 9 points.
Mercy won the title with 97 points, with Amity second with 68 and Hillhouse third with 63.
Vanessa Brown was the only Westie to place in the top three as she had a distance of 33-11 in the triple jump.
Westies drop Pair
WH loses to Shelton and Lyman Hall

(May 13, 2015) - The West Haven girls track and field team fell against Shelton and Lyman Hall Wednesday afternoon. The Westies lost to Shelton, 120-30 and Lyman Hall, 105-45.
The Westies were victorious in the 4 x 100 relay in 52.2 seconds and the 4 x 400 in 4 minutes, 42.8 seconds. Latyana March won the 100 in 13.1 seconds and Destiny Clark was victorious in the 200 in 27.3.
Westies fall to East Haven
EH posts 121-26 victory

The lone West Haven victory came in the 400 as Tamera McCray won in 65.9 seconds.

Westies post Victory
WH defeats Hillhouse, falls to Branford and Sheehan

(April 22, 2015) - The West Haven girls track team posted a victory over Hillhouse, while falling to Branford and Sheehan Wednesday afternoon. The Westies defeated the Academics, 68-45, but fell to Branford, 117-32 and Sheehan 98-51.

West Haven won the 4 x 100 with a team of sophomore Tamera McCray, sophomore Latyana March, senior Ariana Allen and junior Destiny Clark in 54.8 seconds.
March also won the 100 in 13.5 seconds and Clark posted a victory in the 200 in 27.8 seconds.

Mercy defeats Westies
Tigers cruise to 114-35 win

(April 14, 2015) - Junior Destiny Clark won a pair of events, but it was not enough as the West Haven girls track team fell to Mercy, 114-35, Tuesday afternoon in Middletown. The Westies only won four events as a team in the loss.
Clark was victorious in the 200 in 27.3 seconds and the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches. Senior Vanessa Brown was victorious in the triple jump in 33 feet, 3 inches and sophomore Latyana March won the 100 in 12.9 seconds.

Clark stars in opening loss

(April 8, 2015) - The West Haven girls track and field team suffered a 107-34 loss to Sacred Heart Academy in Hamden Wednesday afternoon in the season opener for both teams.
The Westies were victorious in just five events, but junior Destiny Clark had a stellar day. Clark was part of the victorious 4 x 100 relay team, won the 200 in 27.8 seconds, the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches and the triple jump at 29-8.
The team of sophomore Tamera McCray, sophomore Latyana March, senior Ariana Allen and Clark took home the 4 x 100 relay in a time of 54.5 seconds.

(May 26, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team placed 12th in the Southern Connecticut Conference meet in Wallingford Tuesday afternoon.
The Westies finished with 18 points. Hillhouse won the meet with 121 points, while Hamden and Amity tied for second with 75 points.
Eric Singleton was the only Westie in the top three as he won the 300 meter hurdles in 39.54 seconds.

Westies top Prep, fall to North Haven

(May 5, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team split its meet with Fairfield Prep and North Haven Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Jesuits, 75.5-52.5 and falling to the Indians, 93-56.

"After a long weekend at the Middletown Invitational, the team performed well," West Haven coach Ryan Knight said. "At the Middletown Invitational on Saturday, sophomore Brandon Sebastian placed second overall in the long jump (22 feet, 3.5 inches), and senior Eric Singleton placed third overall in the 300 hurdle event (40.0), both being their personal bests on the season. Sophomoe Abdul Aremu placed fourth in the 200 and Byron Dickens placed fifth in the shot put, achieving medals in the Freshman/Sophomore Meet in Middletown on Friday night."

The Westies posted victories in the relay events, winning the 4 x 800 with a team of Khalil Wilson, Umer Chaudhry, Haroon Chaudhry and Ryan Weber in 9 minutes, 29.38 seconds, the 4 x 100 relay with a team of Abdul Aremu, Eric Singleton, Denzel Asson and Andrew Highsmith in 44.67 seconds and the 4 x 400 relay with a team of Wilson, Asson, Aremu and Talon Butler in 3:39.40.
Highsmith won the 100 in 11.4 seconds, Asson won the 400 in 53.8 and Aremu won the 200 in 23.4.
Singleton also won the high jump at 5-8, 300 hurdles in 40.4, and the triple jump in 40-9.
Notre Dame runs past Westies
Sebastian posts three wins in team loss

(April 28, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team fell to cross-town rival Notre Dame, 106-44, Tuesday afternoon at West Haven High. With the loss, West Haven fell to 2-3 on the season.

Sophomore Brandon Sebastian continued his stellar season as he won three more events. Sebastian was victorious in the 100 in 10.92 seconds and the high jump at 6 feet. Sebastian also won the long jump event.

Sophomore wins 3 events in win over East Haven

(April 21, 2015) - The West Haven boys track team improved to 2-2 with an 82-68 victory over East Haven Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore Brandon Sebastian was a key to the victory as he posted victories in three events. Sebastian won the 100 in 10.9 seconds, the 200 in 22.1 and the long jump at 21 feet, 2 inches.
Eric Singleton was victorious in the 300 hurdles for the Westies.

(April 16, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team picked up its first win of the season Thursday afternoon. With a solid team effort, the Westies defeated Foran, 78-72, to improve to 1-2.

Westies fall to Xavier
Depth propels Falcons to 89-57 win

(April 13, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team won nine events Monday afternoon against Xavier. Unfortunately for the Westies, the wins were not enough as the depth of the Falcons prevailed to lead Xavier to an 89-57 win at West Haven.
Brandon Sebastian had another solid outing, winning four events. Sebastian was victorious in the 100 in 11.34 seconds. The sophomore also won the long jump at 21 feet, 10 inches, the high jump at 5-8 and the triple jump at 40-9.

The 4 x 100 relay team of Andrew Highsmith, Dajon Bowen, Chris Franco and Eric Singleton was victorious in 45.67 seconds, Singleton won the 110 hurdles in 16.59 and Denzel Asson won the 400 in 52.57.

Singleton also won the 300 hurdles in 42.37 and Asson was a victor in the 200 in 23.7 seconds.
Hamden races past Westies
Sebastian stars in West Haven loss

(April 9, 2015) - The West Haven boys track and field team opened the 2015 season with a 100-49 loss against Hamden Thursday afternoon in West Haven. Despite three victories from sophomore Brandon Sebastian, the Westies were unable to pull out the victory.
Sebastian won the 100 in 10.92 seconds, the long jump at 21 feet, 1 inch and the high jump at 6 feet, 2 inches.
Eric Singleton was victorious in the 110 hurdles in 16.59, Denzel Asson won the 200 in 23.75, and William Resto was victorious in the discus throw at 82-7.
West Haven also was victorious in the 4 x 100 relay.
