Westies fall to Lyman Hall in opener

(April 1, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team opened the 2019 season with a 5-2 loss to Lyman Hall in Wallingford.
In singles play, top-seeded Sofia Lora defeated Jill Barron 6-2, 6-4, and second-seeded Skylar Serenson topped Maddie Kizer 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Lyman Hall took home the rest of the matches as third-seeded Kiera Farley beat West Haven's Kiara Walker 6-2, 6-4, and fourth-seeded Olivia Vegliante topped Ariana Nguyen of West Haven 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles play, Lyman Hall's top seed of Abbey Pallas and Nicole Nicefaro defeated Rua Osman and Maryn Lovallo 6-0, 7-5, while second-seeded Robyn Honyotski and Bianca Vega topped West Haven's Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos 6-0, 6-0. Third-seeded Keertana Chagari and Becca Milewski of Lyman Hall defeated Alyna Nguyen and Melody McCarthy 6-2, 6-2.
North tops West
Indians post 7-0 win

(April 16, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 2-3 with a 7-0 loss on the road against North Haven.
In singles play, top-seeded Julia Migliorini of North Haven topped Sofia Lora, 6-0, 6-0, second-seeded Ally Vollero defeated Skylar Serenson 6-3, 6-1, third-seeded Lily Mezzi topped. Kiara Walker, 6-1, 6-1, and fourth-seeded Megan Kell defeated Ariana Nguyen, 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles play, top-seeded Zoe Bowerman and Kara Stevens defeated Rua Osman and Alyna Nguyen, 6-0, 6-0, second-seeded Daniella Bryson and Jess Tran topped Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos, 6-1, 6-1, and third-seeded Yasmin Mohamed and Claire Looney defeated Melody McCarthy and Jakellne Ceja 8-1.
WH falls to Shelton
Gaels post 5-2 win

(April 23, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 2-5 with a 5-2 loss against Shelton Tuesday afternoon in West Haven. The defeat was the fourth in a row for the Westies.
In singles play, Nell Komorowski of Shelton defeated Sofia Lora 6-2, 6-1; West Haven's Skylar Serenson defeated Nichole Oliver 6-1, 6-1 in the second slot, while third-seeded Kiara Walker of West Haven topped Mariah Mandulak 6-2, 6-7, 7-5. Shelton's Nardin Sayoufi defeated Savannah Walker 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth slot.
In doubles play, Shelton's Zoe Rogers and Eunice Kim won over Ariana Nguyen and Shea Clarke 6-4, 6-4, Jess Jayakar and Carolyn Maher of Shelton defeated Rua Osman and Jenny Lee Malpica 6-0, 6-0, while Meghan Pineau and Mairy Dib topped West Haven's Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos 6-0, 6-0.

(April 23, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team won its third consecutive match to improve to 5-5 on the year as the Westies topped Platt Tech 4-3 in Milford Monday afternoon.

In singles action, Platt Tech's top seed Juliana Pinto defeated Sofia Lora 8-6, West Haven's Skylar Serenson topped Crystal Jacome 8-0 in the second slot, Kiara Walker of West Havben defeated Kim Chiroy 8-3 in the third spot, and fourth-seeded Savannah Lopez topped Te’Ajai Hall 8-4. Fifth-seeded Ariana Nguyen defeated Ayline Irigoyen 8-0. Platt Tech won both doubles matches. Taelor Rose and Jess Goodwin defeated Rua Osman and Jenny Lee Malpica 8-5, and Briana Aguilar and Gabby Williamson topped Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos 8-5.
Sheehan ends WH Streak

(May 1, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team saw its three-match winning streak come to a close and the team fell to 5-6 with a 7-0 loss to Sheehan Tuesday afternoon in Wallingford.
In singles play, Srivani Agnihotram topped Sofia Lora 6-1, 6-1, Grace Waldron defeated Skylar Serenson 6-0, 4-6, 6-3, Allyssa Cassella defeated Kiara Walker 6-2, 6-1, and Shreya Patel edged Savannah Lopez 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles play, Crystal Gallagher and Caroline Dighello topped Rua Osman and Ariana Nguyen 6-2, 6-2, Olivia Robles and Rishima Patel topped Maryn Lovallo and Melody McCarthy 6-0, 6-1, and Jordyn Allen and Daytona Scherb topped Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos 6-0, 6-0 .

(May 6, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team dropped its second straight match and fell to 6-8 with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Jonathan Law Monday afternoon at Painter Park in West Haven.

In singles play, Law's Lucia Pino defeated Sofia Lora 6-0, 6-1, Monica Pydipati topped Skylar Sorenson 6-1, 6-1, Jenna Bagdasarian defeated Kiara Walker 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 10-8 in the closest match of the day, and Diya Daruka defeated Ariana Nguyen 6-4, 6-1.

(May 9, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to 7-9 with a 4-3 loss against Lyman Hall Thursday afternoon on Senior Day at Painter Park.
In singles action, top-seeded Kiara Walker defeated Jill Barron 6-3, 6-3, second-seeded Skylar Serenson defeated Savannah Farkash 6-0, 6-2, and third-seeded Ariana Nguyen fell to Maddie Kizer 2-6, 6-6 (7-2), 6-4. Fourth-seeded Shea Clarke lost to Kiera Farley 6-0, 6-3.
In doubles play, top-seeded Jennylee Malpica and Jasmine Brown won by forfeit over Abbey Pallas and Nicole Nicefaro. Second-seeded Bianca Vega and Liv Vegliante of Lyman Hall defeated Megan Mendoza and Kaitlyn Campos 6-0, 6-1, and Lyman Hall's third seed of Robyn Honyotski and Abby Murphy topped Jakeline Ceja and Brandie James 6-3, 6-1.

(May 20, 2019) - The West Haven girls tennis team fell to Branford 4-3 Monday afternoon in Branford.
In singles play, Sofia Laura topped Sara Giardi 6-2, 6-3, and second-seeded Skylar Serenson defeated Amanda Gage 6-3, 6-0. Branford's third seed of Sam Velardi topped Kiara Walker 8-2, while fourth-seeded Savannah Lopez of West Haven defeated Jess King 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles play, Branford's Alayna Boileau and Shae Lepre defeated Maryn Lovallo and Megan Mendoza 6-1, 6-0. Branford's second seed of Sarah Berdon and Ellie Bartlett topped Melody McCarthy and Ema Lucas 6-2, 6-3, while Hanna Bloomquist and Kay Lee Lam defeated West Haven's Kaitlyn Campos and Leonarkis Espronseda 6-1, 6-4.
